This piece is inspired by my international travels this summer and the differences in culture I observed compared to what I grew up with here in the United States. United tells a story of identity in collectivist and individualist cultures, and the general benefits and drawbacks of each. When one thing is gained, something else is always lost…but must it be that way? Special thanks to my amazing husband who composed and recorded the music for my piece.
